GIVE YOUR EYES, SAVE THE WORLD

These dazzling eyes were photographed by National Geographic years ago, and I still remember them.

Why?

They're so vulnerable, and not in a sad way. She's full of fire, and it's right there for all to see.

Eyes convey so much, especially when we allow truth to be seen in them. But for many of us, we shift our eyes away from people on the street, waitstaff, doormen/women, delivery people, mail people, coffee baristas, & people that look or sound different than us.

Why?

I believe it's fear of being seen or fear of seeing something in another that resonates so deeply in us that we might crack that outer shell we hide behind.

But the world needs our eyes. It needs you to see and be seen. The world and you need both of these in order to heal, in order to grow, in order to experience bliss.

What to do?

Give your eyes. I've been saying this to my children since they started looking out into their world. Give your eyes. Let people see you. Be kind with those eyes. Come from love and curiosity. Truly open.

The next time you cross paths with anyone - give your eyes. It's such a gift, not only for them, but you will receive an insight into you, into your world. I promise,  just lift those eyes and give them to another. Allow them to see you without blocks or guards up.

If giving your eyes to an adult feels like too much, give your eyes to a child. Children hold such depth in their eyes. They will always look to connect and when you do, when you first really see someone and they see you - it's magic!

Give your eyes, and you will receive a beautiful gift back.
