Eric Elfman & Neal Shusterman: A Writer's Retreat

This retreat has yet to happen - as of Oct. 2013. They are still researching sites and ideas. Please email them with your questions ASAP.

I've known Eric Elfman for three years now. I met him at a writer's retreat in Big Sur. He's a great editor, fun person, and all around good guy. You can't do better than to have him improve your manuscript.

But you don't only get him on this amazing writer's retreat. You get his writing partner, Neal Shusterman. An award winning writer, I'm sure he'll have great feedback and pointers for you as well. What a duo!

And who says you can't have a blast, a mini vacation, and relax while working on your book? I think this is an awesome idea for a writer's retreat! See below...

Hello authors --

Are you ready to spend the last week of August working on your manuscript under the guidance of Neal Shusterman & Eric Elfman? We will be writing our next book together, the sequel to TESLA'S ATTIC,  Book 2 of the Accelerati Series (Disney-Hyperion Books).

The week long writing retreat & workshop will consist of daily small writing groups with Neal and Eric, one-on-one sessions, plenty of writing/revising time, and evening presentations, readings, and Q&A's. (If there is interest, we will devote several sessions to screenwriting.)

Neal is the best-selling, award-winning author of 28 YA and MG novels, including the NY Times Bestseller Unwind, along with UnSouledUnWhollyAntsy Does Time, the Everlost series, and too many other books to list. Eric is the award-winning author of 12 YA and MG books, including three offbeat almanacs for Random House, and is co-author with Neal of the forthcoming TESLA'S ATTIC, to be published in February 2014.They have also written screenplays together for Walden Media, Universal and Revolution Pictures.

Tentative schedule:
9:00 - 11:00  Morning critique groups with Neal or Eric
11:00 - 3:00  Writing/Revising time and Lunch
3:00 - 5:00  Afternoon critique groups or One-on-Ones (alternate days)
5:00 - 8:00  Writing/Revising/Free time and Dinner
8:00 - 9:30  Evening presentation / Q&A (alternate evenings)

Our Writing Retreat & Workshop will take place the last week of August: Sunday, August 25 through Saturday, August 31.

The retreat will take place either on a cruise ship or at a resort destination in Cabo. Neal and I are now exploring destinations and costs, but it will be somewhere between $1,000 and $1,500 for the week, not including airfare. (If you want to bring along a guest, let us know -- we'll figure out the rate without the workshop.)

Space is limited and time is getting short, so if you're interested, please get back to me right away, at! (And if you can't use this, but you know a writer who might be interested, please pass it on!)

Note from Angie Azur: These two look like fun to me!
